«...I have created a Pulpa Chic World in which the observer dives into a space of sensuous visual opulence. The works are partly quilted (“meaty”) object-paintings using cloths and acrylic paint. They have a sort of “pop prefabricated beautiful look” that reflects today’s values and way of life, in which nature is often modified to achieve the ultimate desired artifical perfection...»

Quilted and soft, padded textures of uttermost sensuality, colour and the urge to touch. All-feminine attributes. This possible cushion, pillowed texture; the feeling of being wrapped inside, the necessary backrest. How many quilts exist in Caribbean history? How many close associations are made between them and professionally done hairstyles? All of the colours, the vibrancy, and their mixture.

The various pieces of Bolero Pulpa Chic are not just hung on walls; but in a suspicious way, and according to a particular pattern, they adhere to the space. They adhere the pieces of Clementia Labin’s memory. They glue and wrap ; they dress columns, walls and air. Voluptuous, fleshy, and slightly transparent. And for the ear?
A bolereo: “Besame Mucho” Even this intertwines, honey-sweet and penetrating.
Besame Mucho! It is a command! Before you know it, you will also wrap up. Turn and see! It is I . I am the mirror!

In her tarantula-hands, the woman bears the history of the hearts of Latin men and woman.
“It is important to touch the pulp and to hear the rhythm of the bolero. Both tell the same sentimental story”.
The pieces of Bolero Pulpa Chic are not flat objects. We cross into the soft space and the woman is absent. She is in a virtual territory, nothing more than sensory speculation.
